Come Sunday, 18th of October 2020, the African fashion industry will witness yet another scintillating and fascinating parade of cultural fashion exposé as one of Nigeria’s most creative couture divas, Ibiyemi Alabi organizes this year’s edition of ‘Passion for African Fashion’ (PAFASH) Show. The event will be a virtual affair as several African and global designers are expected to showcase their various artistic and creative designs. According to the organizers, the 2020 PAFASH show will feature Fashion Showcase, Online Exhibition, Inspirational Speeches, Live Entertainment and other activities.
The conveyer of PAFASH 2020 show Ibiyemi Alabi is a multi-award winning fashion entrepreneur, a young, dynamic, uniquely creative and versatile fashion enthusiast is the Head Designer of Kaft Trendz and founder Passion for African Fashion (PAFASH). She is a graduate of Economics from the prestigious Lagos State University and an MBA holder in Finance Management from the University of Hull, United Kingdom. Ibiyemi, after years of working both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom thought it expedient to found the Kaft Trendz in 2013 and this is done with a passion to help modern fashionistas, individuals, social fashion cravers to stand out uniquely and be recognized, applauded anywhere they are.
Her brand is inspired by African cultural and ethnical clothing. Ibiyemi’s designs reflect a modern blend of bold prints, colour and style with the aim to renew a sense of pride in African culture and having the confidence in expressing one’s fashion senses. She made history by organizing the very first African Fashion event in Liverpool, the United Kingdom. No doubt, Ibiyemi Alabi is a dedicating and passionate African fashion and cultural ambassador who is proud of her history, taking the bold step of re-orienting fashion culture in Africa and beyond.
For those who are not really privy to the activities of PAFASH, it is the largest African fashion event in the North West of England. It is an event set to promote, educate and highlight Africa’s creative industry and it is also a platform to emerging and established high-end designers worldwide to showcase their creativity to a larger global audience and connect to the buyers and stockists. Since inception, PAFASH has showcased various high standard designers from different parts of the world. Fashion designers from Nigeria, Ghana, Abu-Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Netherlands, Italy to mention just a few have all been part and parcel of PAFASH’s fashion revelations.
PAFASH has so far encouraged many Africans to connect with, embrace and proudly share their heritage and culture.
