The Executive Chairman Mosan-Okunola LCDA,Hon Princess Olabisi Adebajo hosted the Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Kamal Bayewu and his entire (team)entourage on his first Familiarization visit to the Council Secretariat ,Wednesday 26th May, 2021.
The LGSC Chairman for the first time ever was accompanied by the entire members of his Cabinet; the Honourable Commissioners; Permanent Secretaries,Directors and other Commission officials.
The LGSC Chairman and his team was well recieved by the Executive Chairman Hon Olabisi Adebajo,Council Manager Prince Adeeso Adedoyin,the Management staff and the Nulge Executives.
The Council boss Hon. Olabisi Adebajo in her welcome address on behalf of Management and staff of the Council with utmost pleasure appreciated the LGSC Chairman for taking time out of his extremely busy schedule to pay a working visit to Mosan Okunola lcda. She also thanked him for his overwhelming continued support towards the advancement of the Local Government Service Commission since his assumption of office.
She lauded the commitment and diligence of particularly the Council Manager Prince Adeeso Adedoyin and the Management staff as seasoned Professionals and great personalities to work with and promised to provide Staff Bus for the staff.
In his keynote address, the LGSC Chairman Hon Kamal Bayewu appreciated the Executive Chairman for her efforts towards the staff and encouraged her to do more.He highlighted to the staff the purpose of the Familiarization Tour and emphasised on the importance of Staff Welfare as paramaount among other challenges.
Hon. Bayewu also admonished members of staff to be more disciplined and Professional in discharging their official duty.He regarded the staff as customer service relationship officers and always endeavour to show empathy to the people as government staff.
He further discussed on the issue of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and encouraged the Revenue officers to strategize on how they can expand and bring in more revenue.
He concluded by commending the physical outlook of staff and gave them a High Score card on Professionalism.Charging all on integrity and proactiveness in the line of duty.
The Permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission, Mrs Mobolaji Daba enjoined the staff to maintain Discipline and Familiarize themself with Public Service Rules, Financial Regulations, Annual Report, Manual,Circular e.t.c.
She advised staff on key points bothering from the forth coming Promotion exercise, proper leave documentation,disciplinary cases ,the newly enacted laws by the Lagos State Procurement Agency, the withdrawn Confirmation letters that has being corrected
and dispatched to the Council,LASSRA valid ID card and lastly made announcement regarding the creation of office for the physically challenged inorder to get their details and data so that the Government can have easy access to them.
Mr. Abiodun Bamgboye, Permanent Secretary Local Government Establishment, Training and Pension, commended the staff on their dressing and co-ordination.
He discussed about the aspect of civility in civil service as being knowledgeable and professional.He advised staff to learn how to relate with the political office holders and be professional about it. He admonished them not to Play politics at the expense of policy. And charged all staff to invest in themselves to be knowledgeable and take deployment as an instrument of building their career. He stressed the issue of punctuality,Training,Study leave, Leave of Absence, Advancement and Conversion.He informed that the Commission has approved the creation of ICT and Tourism offices in all the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Area in Lagos State.
Vote of thanks was done by the Council Manager Prince Adedoyin Adeeso Idowu,, who expressed great gratitude to the LGSC Chairman and his team.
Accompanying the Commission Chairman during the visit are other Commissioners in the Local Government Service Commission, namely, Engr. Biodun Orekoya, Commissioner I, representing Ikorodu Division; Hon. Ahmed Seriki, Commissioner II representing Epe Division; Hon. Akeem Bamgbola, Commissner III, from Lagos Division and Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo, Commissioner IV, representing Ikeja Division.
Others include two Permanent Secretaries in the Commission, Mrs. Daba Mobolaji and Mr. Bamigboye Abiodun (Establishment, Training and Pension) as well as some Directors and members of staff of the Commission.
Members of the Management, NULGE and staff of Mosan-Okunola LCDA were present during the visit.
